Score Overview:

Here's a general overview of the scores, with the higher the score the more natural compatibility, but please note a high score is not a guarantee of the relationship working out and vice versa:

70% to 100%: Perfect Match – You could share a lot of the same perspectives, making it easy to feel understood and build a natural connection together.

50% to 69%: Good Match– You might find that you're mostly on the same page, sharing a strong sense of alignment.

30–49%:  Mixed Match – You could have an understanding of each other in some areas, but experience challenges in others.

0–29%: Challenging Match – You might find differences require more understanding, compromise, and effort to move through.

 

What Is Compatibility?

Compatibility by definition refers to the natural ability to coexist with ease due to well-matched characteristics – and this is the lens that will be used to explore compatibility through astrology.

It is not a judgment on whether a relationship will or won’t work, but instead offers insight into how naturally the connection might flow, and how easily you could relate to one another.

Compatibility often feels intuitive, like you're on the same wavelength without having to try too hard or change each other. This can show up as shared humour, aligned values, or a natural understanding of how you move through life together. It’s the state of being seen, understood, and validated by another person.

Clashes, on the other hand, reflect a difference in instincts or approaches – where you may find yourselves pulling in opposite directions. These can be difficult to navigate, and may require going against your own nature or learning how to respond in ways that feel unfamiliar. 

It’s completely normal for connections to come with a mix of strengths and challenges, and by understanding your relationship through astrology, you can start to gain insight into how, where, and why you might connect with a partner.

If my score is low, will my relationship fail?

No! It just suggests you might have a bit of work to do to understand each other.

Plus this is score is only based on your personal planets, there may be other parts in your birth chart that help your connection. Ultimately this is just for fun and any relationship can work with effort.

I don’t know my planets, how do I find them?

There are many websites that allow you to find your personal planets - including cafeastrology.com, astro-charts.com and chani.com to name a few.

Can LBGTQ+ couples use this calculator?

Yes, the language ‘feminine partner’ and ‘masculine partner’ is used intentionally instead of woman or man, so that same sex couples can be included. If you feel like the feminine partner in the relationship regardless of your gender, then tick this box (and if non-binary, experiment with both).

But as this calculator was inspired by hetero reality shows like Love Island and Love Is Blind, it was designed with masculine and feminine relationship dynamics in mind. So at the moment it isn't able to accurately interpret relationships where both partners embody the same energy (for example, two feminine or two masculine partners). But expanding the calculator to better support these dynamics is something that can be explored in the future.
